The Organising Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the FIDE World Cup registration platform.

All participants are invited to register and start visa procedures using the following link: wc2021registration.fide.com

Important visa information is provided below for your attention

  • ALL participants need to provide passport copy (good quality) and passport details through the System during their Registration.
  • Participants who need an Entry Visa to Russia will be provided with the VISA INVITATION LETTERS (ENG and RUS) upon which they will obtain an Entry Visa in the Russian Consulates of their countries. The Visa Invitation Letters will be available for download in the System after you are accredited by a Registration manager - you will receive a notification email upon your accreditation.
  • Please note the visa invitation letter is automatically generated for all participants. You can check the list of countries that do not need the visa here: visitrussia.org.uk/visas/getting-a-russian-visa/the-russian-federation-visa-free-regime
  • Participants are free to apply for a Visa both in their home country and abroad. The main condition is to apply for the Russian Visa only in official institutions such as the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy or Consulate-General.
  • When applying for the Russian Visa, alongside with a complete set of documents requested by the Embassy, a participant shall provide the official VISA Invitation letter from the Chess Federation of Russia. This invitation is the main basis for issuing the visa that substitutes for a telex/reference number.

  • Please note when filling out the application form: the purpose of visit - humanitarian visits (sports), visa category and type - common humanitarian, number of entries - single.
  • Those citizens who don't need an Entry Visa to Russia, still need to provide passport copy and passport details through the System to be able to enter the Russian Federation with no issues caused by the Covid 2019 pandemic restrictions.
  • World Cup participants' border crossing dates agreed by the Russian Foreign Ministry: arrival no earlier than July 05, 2021 - departure no later than August 13, 2021.
Russian embassies and consulates all over the world have been informed about the FIDE World Cup by a circular letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. They are ready to assist the participants and their accompanying persons with applying for urgent visas.
